Call to shun discrimination among artistes

Yakshagana Bayalata Academy former president Prof M L Samaga has opined that there should not be any discrimination between folk artistes and Yakshagana artistes.

Speaking at the valedictory of Yakshagana Bayalata Ranga Sambrama organised by Karnataka Yakshagana Bayalata Academy here at Rajangana, he said Yakshagana should be staged in every corner of the state and there should be exchange of art forms.

Academy should publish a book which would cover all areas of Yakshagana, he said.
Paryaya Kaniyoor Mutt Vidhyavallabha Swamiji said: “there should be an environment where one can proudly say that Yakshagana is our art. Because of media, more number of people are being attracted towards the art. One should not misuse the medium.”

Academy Member Kondadakuli Ramachandra Hegade, Yakshagana Kalaranga President Tallur Shivaram Shetty,  were present among others.
