The Supreme Court had dismissed a batch of petitions challenging the order of Karnataka High Court staying the criminal proceedings against Yeddyurappa and his family members.

Sirajin Basha has alleged irregularities in allotment of land.  A Bench of the apex court comprising  Justices V S Sirpurkar and T S Thakur, while declining to interfere with the High Court’s order, directed to decide the complainant’s petitions within six weeks.

Basha, in his appeal before the Supreme Court had contended that the stay granted by the single judge of the High Court on March 29 stalled the trial of all the accused persons including the chief minister and his son-in-law Sohan Kumar.
