Cases politically motivated, says Janardhana Reddy

Ballari-based mining baron G Janardhana Reddy, who was absconding after the police issued a lookout notice for him in ponzi scheme case; appeared before the city civil and sessions court, seeking anticipatory bail, on Friday. Reddy is wanted in the case pertaining to several crores of rupees worth transaction.

Reddy also filed two other petitions before the high court seeking to quash the FIR against him (lodged at the DJ police station), and another petition seeking change of investigation officers.

He claimed that the investigating officers were 'under political pressure'. All three petitions are likely to come up for hearing today (Friday).

Reddy stated in the petitions, that cases filed against him were 'politically motivated and CCB was under political pressure'. The police had assaulted Ramesh (fourth accused) who is in their custody, he alleged.
