Cyber Economic Offences and Narcotics (CEN) wing of City Police is investigating the fake notices sent to some banks in the name of Enforcement Directorate to block transactions of bank accounts with cash balance above Rs 10 lakh and provide KYC details of such accounts.

Banks following the notices had sent the details to ED which reverted back that they had not sought any such information or sent notices to banks.

Banks after realising that the notices sent were fake filed complaint with the CEN police.

Customers faced problems with banks keeping their accounts on hold as per the notices received by them earlier.

Police said that none of the bank accounts have been compromised or money is withdrawn. They were investigating the case and have received some leads.
