<p>New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti V Somanna on Monday said that the Union Ministry of Forests and Environment has agreed to utilise 51.32 hectare of forest land in the Bhukkapatna Chinkara Wildlife Sanctuary in Tumakuru district to construct canal under Upper Bhadra Project. </p><p>The standing committee on the National Wild Life Board in its latest meeting agreed to give these lands from the Sanctury for the project, Somanna said in a statement. </p><p>The decision of the Ministry of Environment and Forests would help to expedite the Upper Bhadra Project, the Minister said. </p>.BJP MPs seek central funds for Upper Bhadra project.<p>The Board said while constructing canal, the user agency should build sufficient number of animal passings and utmost care should be taken so that wildlife should not get harmed during construction activities.</p>
