During the all-member meeting convened at Mudigere Taluk Panchayat by president Anajur Subraya on Wednesday, the members unanimously raised voice
against corruption.

The members complained that in the horticultural department, bribes are being demanded from people, to provide benefits to them.

The members questioned the unutilised funds in the department in the limits of Totandur and other gram panchayats.

They accused Kalasa hobli horticultural department officials of demanding bribes from beneficiaries of NRIG and other schemes.

“Benefits are not provided to those who denied to pay bribes,” the members accused.
The members meanwhile demanded that a notice be served to the official concerned and to make use of the funds released.

Taluk Panchayat president Anajur Subraya said, the wild elephant menace has increased in Banakal hobli and the pachyderms have ruined the coffee plantations.

Meanwhile a resolution was passed to propose to the government to increase the amount of compensation to Rs 1000 per coffee plant and Rs 2,500 per areca and coconut plant. Some members suggested planting baine plants to control elephant menace.
TP president meanwhile said that 16 drinking water units under Shuddhahanga scheme have been sanctioned to the taluk.

Members complained that a nurse at Daradahalli Primary Health Centre is being paid even though she was in the service since last four years. Even though complaint is submitted, no action has been taken.

Medical Officer Dr Yogesh said that a recommendation has been made to higher officials, towards initiating appropriate action.

Standing committee member Annapoorna said that though there are good doctors at Kalasa Primary Health Centre, no proper treatment is made available for patients, due to  negligence of staff.

Member Hovamma warned of staging a protest if no action is taken to purify the polluted water in Bapunagar in Hesgal GP limits.

Executive officer Rudrappa was present.
