Cutouts of PM, Shah, BSY as scarecrows go viral

The photographs of the cutouts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President Amit Shah and BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa being used as scarecrows, by a farmer in a paddy field have gone viral on social media.

In fact, the social media posts had mentioned the names of different villages in the district. After searching the source, it was found that cutouts were used by farmer H L Raghu beside the paddy seedlings, at Halooru in Daradahalli Gram Panchayat.

The use of scarecrows to scare away animals and birds is common in villages. The use of cutouts of national leaders as scarecrow has caught the attention of the onlookers.

Some individual had clicked a photo and posted it on social media which later went viral.

On the cutout being used as scarecrows, Gram panchayat member Panchakshari said, “The cutouts are in the paddy fields of Raghu. The cutouts were installed during the Assembly Elections and have been there since the election. Not only Raghu, even other farmers have used the cutouts of various leaders in their paddy fields and arecanut plantations.”

The cutouts that remained in the field after the election, now look like scarecrows, he said. Farmer Raghu was not reachable for his comments on the matter.
