Delegation to seek two STs in Karnataka Cabinet: Satish Jarkiholi

Bengaluru: A delegation of Congress leaders is planning to visit New Delhi to meet the party’s top brass and demand for the induction of two ST lawmakers into the Cabinet.

Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi said this after he and other ST lawmakers met senior Congress lawmaker K N Rajanna, who was sacked from the Cabinet. 

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s Cabinet has two vacancies, caused by the exit of B Nagendra and Rajanna, both ST leaders. Satish is the lone ST face in the Cabinet now.

“Two ST leaders have had to exit from the Cabinet. We’ll ask the party to appoint two STs and give them the same portfolios (youth empowerment & sports and cooperation),” Satish said, adding that the delegation will visit Delhi after the monsoon session of the legislature.
