As soon as the news began to spread, people from a community gathered in large number at Andechatra and tension prevailed for some time. Additional forces were deployed in the region.
Wakf Committee district President Dr Khalid Ahmed Khan said, “the maidan has been desecrated by animal flesh purposefully and the culprits must be arrested.” He handed over a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner. Sangh Parivar members had staged a protest against the desecration of pipal tree on Monday.
Wakf Committee Secretary M S Mazar Hussain said that some miscreants have tried to incite communal violence. Deputy Commissioner R Narayanaswamy and Superintendent of Police M N Nagaraj who visited the spot said, the culprits will be arrested within a week. SP denied permission when youths from a particular community wanted to take out a procession to condemn the incident.
