Congress leader D K Shivakumar, who is considered a troubleshooter in party circles, on Tuesday swung into action to prevent poaching of MLAs by the rival camp.
Soon after the Congress high command decided to keep the BJP away from power by supporting the JD(S), Shivakumar ensured that two independent MLAs – Shankar (Ranebennur) and H Nagesh (Mulabagilu) – are brought to Bengaluru.
He held talks with the MLAs and obtained a written letter from them, declaring their support to Janata Dal-Secular-Congress alliance.
