Another 1,500 houses will be allotted this year. The houses will replace all the huts in the district,” he added. Plots will also be distributed to the poor.<br /><br />Suvarna Bhoomi Scheme<br /><br />Thousands of applications have been received under the Suvarna Bhoomi Scheme. The beneficiaries will be elected through draw of lots. “But, under no circumstance should they misuse the funds given under the scheme,” he warned.<br /><br />Taluk Panchayat president Venkataramanappa said officers should visit villages to learn about the problems faced by the residents. <br /><br />This would also help them in solving the problems better. It is also their responsibility to instill confidence among the residents who are depressed and have lost faith in the government machinery.<br /><br />Department promises<br /><br />Officers from the Department of Agriculture said that quality seeds of the Tur and Groundnuts crops, along with equipment, would be distributed to farmers. <br /><br />The officers of the Department of Women and Child Welfare briefed people about the benefits and how to avail the Bhagyalakshmi Bonds.<br /><br />Taluk Panchayat president Manjula, Executive Officer Sriram Reddy, Deputy Tahsildar Dwarakanath, Gram Panchayat president Lakshminarasimha, GP former president Jayamma and others were present on the occasion.</p>
