Elephant tramples woman

A 54-year-old woman was killed after being trampled by a wild elephant in Purabhairavanahalli, K Hosakote hobli in the taluk. The incident occurred on Thursday when the victim Sarojamma was on her way to answer nature’s call.

Sarojamma, who panicked, began running towards her house, when the elephant started chasing her. She tripped and fell when she neared the house, following which the elephant trampled her to death. Residents  were enraged as the authorities concerned did not arrive at the scene even at 2 pm.
