<p>Bengaluru: Farmers who lost crops on 1.58 lakh hectares due to heavy rains will be compensated in the next one week, Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said on Friday. </p>.<p>Gowda said this after a video conference with deputy commissioners of all districts. </p>.<p>“A survey was done over the last one month and data entry is in its final stage. The crop loss has been estimated at Rs 120 crore. In a week’s time, compensation will be credited to farmers’ bank accounts,” Gowda said. </p>.<p>Gowda said deputy commissioners have Rs 642 crore with them, which will be used to dispense compensation quickly. “Some parts of the state witnessed damages to homes. In some places, there was loss of life. Overall, Rs 162 crore in compensation has been released already,” the minister said. </p>.MLA funds increased from Rs 10 crore to Rs 15 crore for Opposition: G Parameshwara.<p>Gowda said at least 5,000 applicants will be given cultivation certificates by December 15 under Bagair Hukum, which deals with regularisation of unauthorised occupation of public lands. </p>.<p>“Lakhs of people have applied under Bagair Hukum seeking grant of lands. We are considering 1.26 lakh applications as eligible,” Gowda said. “In the first phase, the target is to clear 5,000 applications. By January, it’ll increase to 15,000-20,000,” he said. </p>.<p>Gowda also said that that eligible Bagair Hukum beneficiaries will be given digital cultivation certificates. </p>
