<p>Mangaluru: An FIR has been registered against Belthangady BJP MLA Harish Poonja for allegedly delivering a provocative speech.</p><p>The MLA during the stage programme of Brahmakalashotsava of Sri Gopalakrishna Temple at Tekkaru village, had delivered a provocative speech, purportedly against Muslims, on May 3. </p><p>Alleging that his speech aimed at inciting communal hate, Ibrahim S B had submitted a complaint to Uppinangady police station. Further, the MLA had delivered inflammatory speech even when prohibitory order under Section 163 of BNSS was in force in the district.</p><p>A case has been registered under section 196, 353 (2) of the BNS act.</p>.Karnataka CM denies knowledge of 'link' between Fazil compensation and Hindu activist murder.<p>In his speech, he had alleged that "Bearys" of Tekkar had damaged the tube lights installed for the Brahmakalasha and have been stealing diesel from generator. "Why Brahmakalasha invitation was given to Muslims. Invitation should not have been given to them. We are Hindus and should not entertain them." The MLA had also targeted the Muslim population in his speech and said "Hindus should face them (Muslims) and follow Sanathana dharma and offer puja to the god."</p><p>It may be recalled that Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara and District in Charge Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao during a meeting with officers to assess the situation in DK district on Saturday, had directed the police to take strict action against provocative speeches irrespective of the party, leaders, community they belong to.</p>
