Former MLA and JD(S) leader H S Prakash (67) died of health issues at the BGS Hospital in Bengaluru on Tuesday. He was rushed to the hospital after he experienced respiratory problems, a few days back.
Prakash was elected to the Assembly from Hassan constituency in 1994, 2004, 2008 and 2013. He was defeated in 1999 and 2018. Born on September 13, 1951, Prakash became a supporter of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and entered electoral politics by becoming a councillor in 1983. He was elected president of Hassan Municipal Council in 1985. He is survived by wife Lalitha, two sons, including H P Swaroop, a ZP member, and a daughter.
The final rites of Prakash will be held on the premises of Sriranga Institutions in the city on Wednesday afternoon.
