'Gilivindu' meet at Konaje

The third conference of 'Gilivindu', the Mangalore University Kannada Department alumni, faculty and staff association, will be organised at Mangala Auditorium, Mangalagangothri in Konaje on February 24.

In a press release, Gilivindu president Prof B Shivaram Shetty said that the registration will begin at the venue from 9 am. The annual general meeting of the association will be held at 10.30 am.

The formal programme will be held at 11.30 am. Acting Vice-chancellor P Ishwar, Registrar A M Khan, S V Parameshwara Bhat Kannada Study Centre Head Dr Nagappa Gowda and Hampi Kannada University former vice-chancellor Prof B A Vivek Rai will take part in the event. Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, Kannada study chair Dr Purushottam Bilimale will deliver a lecture on 'Kannada in Higher Education' on the occasion.

The registration of the Gilivindu teams will be held in the afternoon. Old students, lecturers and staff of the department are requested to take part.
