Govt committed to internal quota, says K H Muniyappa

Bengaluru: The Minister for Food and Civil Supplies K H Muniyappa on Saturday said that the government was committed to provide internal reservation for Scheduled Castes.

Speaking to media after an event at Congress office he said, "The report submitted by retired Justice H N  Nagamohandas recommending internal reservation within the Scheduled Castes will be implemented 100% for sure. There is no doubt about it."

“In the Cabinet meeting, the chief minister provided copies of the report. We will study it and attend the special Cabinet meeting onthe 16th of this month. Whatever the issue, we will sit together and resolve it and come out with a collective decision," he added. 

He said that ministers such as Parameshwara, H C Mahadevappa, Shivaraj Tangadagi, and several MLAs had expressed their opinions. "Our core objective is that reservation should be spread among all 101 original castes listed under the Scheduled Castes,” he said.
