<p>Yadgir: To check the menace of online games, a Director General (DG) post for cyber security will be created, said Home Minister G Parameshwara.</p><p>Speaking to reporters here on Monday, he said we have discussed bringing an ordinance to control harassment from finances. We will introduce the ordinance within 10 days and after this, it will be presented for cabinet approval and sent to the Governor, explained the home minister.</p><p>He said surrendered Naxalites should handle their cases independently and since the government has already formulated rules for Naxalites to surrender, we will assist them. Compensation will be provided to police personnel who died in operations against Naxalites, Parameshwara said. </p><p>Approximately 16,000 posts are vacant in the department and steps will be taken to fill up those posts. The recruitment process for 545 sub-inspector posts remains pending.</p><p>Orders have been issued to candidates excluding 40 candidates under Article 371(J) and the 'Sindhutva' verification process for 402 sub-inspector posts is ongoing. Additionally, a notification for the recruitment of 600 sub-inspector posts will be issued soon. Between 16,000 to 18,000 constable positions are vacant and therefore, permission has been granted to respective SPs to fill 8,000 to 10,000 posts in phases, the minister stated.</p>
