H1N1 helpline gets many calls on 1st day

Speaking to Deccan Herald, officials at the helpline said: “We have been receiving calls after calls from morning. Many callers were seeking information on the sympotms of H1N1, precautionary measures to be taken to contain the spread of swine flu, treatment for it and the need for testing the throat swab etc.”

“In fact, several people with the symptoms of common cold, cough and fever also called to seek details on the treatment available for swine flu and so on.”
The helpline 2425038 will be functioning 24 hours a day.

District Surveillance Officer Dr Rajesh said no new cases of swine flu have been reported in Mangalore on Sunday. As many as 36 suspected swine flu cases were reported in the district so far. Of which, seven were tested positive.”
