Hindu Yuva Samavesha: Police on high alert in Dakshina Kannada

Addressing a press meet on Saturday, Superintendent of Police Dr A S Rao said additional police forces will be deployed in the district. Police personnel from Chikmagalur, Kolar, KGF, Mysore, Bangalore rural have been called for the purpose. This include 8DySPs, 44 Inspectors, 136 ASIs, 114 SIs, 1448 contsbales, 110 women police, 12 DAR platoons and 18 KSP commandos.

Dr Rao said route march were carried out in Puttur, Panambur, Mangalore, Surathkal and Ullal region to instill confidence among the public. All measures have been taken to see that miscreants do not trouble. He called upon the people to co-operate with the district police in maintaining peace and harmony. Even organisers have been asked maintain peace. Moreover, the whole convention will be videographed. Vehicles will be checked in sensitive areas, he added. Traffic has been diverted in the City between 1 pm till the conclusion of the programme. No vehicles will be allowed to enter Kankanaduy, Balmatta, Hampankaatta region.
