Jayantrao Bharamagowda Patil no more

Well-known industrialist Jayantrao Bharamagowda Patil, 87, passed away following a massive heart attack, in the city on Thursday.

He was the chairman of the B T Patil Group of Institutions. Patil is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters and three brothers. The last rites were held at the Shahapur burial ground.

Patil, a first grade contractor, had always given priority to works on providing infrastructure. He was a pioneer in the construction of hydro-electric plants, tunnels in roads and railway lines, irrigation canals and crest gates for reservoirs, in Karnataka and Maharashtra. Patil has been presented national and international awards for his contributions in the field of engineering.
