The JD(S) is seen trying to drive a hard bargain with the BJP in the Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections.

In a late night development on Tuesday, JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy met with BJP Vokkaliga leader R Ashoka, where he is said to have sought BJP’s second preference votes for his party candidate B M Farook. In return, JD(S) may withdraw its second S M Venkatapathi in the Council. However, a final decision will be taken only after Kumaraswamy briefs his father H D Deve Gowda and Ashoka holds talks with his party state president B S Yeddyurappa.
