The CID team probing the Prof Kalburgi murder case, questioned a few leaders of Hindu outfits, a BJP corporator and Kalburgi’s students, on Friday.
It is learnt that the team questioned Shankar Shelake, a BJP corporator, for more than an hour. Shelake was earlier associated with Sri Rama Sene and had staged a protest against Prof Kalburgi for his remarks on urinating on idols.
Information collected
Shelake said that CID officials collected information pertaining to the protest staged by Hindu outfits two years ago and did not question him more.
Sources in police stated that the CID had issued directions to a few other leaders of Hindu outfits to appear for questioning. This apart, some students, who were close to Kalburgi and a few writers too were questioned.
