<p>Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Commission for Women on Monday came in support of actor-politician Divya Spandana a k a Ramya, against whom 'derogatory' comments and rape threats were made over her Instagram posts on the Renukaswamy murder case involving actor Darshan Thoogudeepa.</p><p>Last week, the Supreme Court criticised the Karnataka High Court’s decision of granting bail to actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is accused of murder in the Renukaswamy murder case.</p><p>Ramya had shared a screenshot of the news on social media and wrote, “SC is a ray of hope for the common people of India- justice for the family of Renukaswamy.” </p>.Supreme Court pulls up Karnataka HC over bail to actor Darshan, reserves order in Renukaswamy murder case.<p>After this, Darshan’s fans reportedly passed derogatory comments and even sent rape and death threats to Ramya on Instagram.</p><p>Ramya shared screenshots of these messages and comments on Instagram and wrote, “No difference between Renukaswamy’s messages and DBoss fans messages. It’s because of trolls like this who have misogynistic mindset that women and young girls are subjected to harassment and rape and murder.”</p>.<p>On Monday, president of the Karnataka State Commission for Women, Nagalakshmi Chowdary urged the Bengaluru Police Commissioner to investigate the matter and take action against the concerned. </p><p>Speaking to DH, Nagalakshmi Chowdary said, “This kind of behaviour speaks so much about the mentality of today’s generation. It’s such a sad state of affairs — on one hand, we’re constantly fighting for justice and on the other hand we have people who pass such derogatory remarks against women. I have written to the police commissioner to look into this.” </p>
