Katti assaults official

The incident occurred on Monday. The Government Marathi Medium Primary School No 38 located at Nanawadi is on the verge of closure due to reduced student strength. The building owner, whose property is located in a prime location, evinced interest in getting it vacated. However, Katti and another legislator were eyeing the valuable piece of property.
The Education department official was summoned by the minister to get details about the status of the school and the property.

The official explained the status of the land and the reason why the department could not get the school vacated from the private owner. Enraged by his replies, Katti reportedly assaulted the official, sources said.
