<p>Bengaluru: Urban Development Minister B S Suresh (Byrathi) assured the Legislative Assembly on Friday that the Integrated Township being planned at Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) would be completed within a year.</p>.<p>Suresh was answering a question by KGF MLA Roopakala, who sought to know the time limit of the project.</p>.<p>Noting that the Integrated Township was a 2024-25 Budget promise, the KGF MLA said: “In the Budget, the scheme was projected as one that would provide thousands of employment opportunities for the educated section, ensure that IT companies, banking hub, educational hub and health city also develop.”</p>.Karnataka cabinet approves decision to develop satellite townships around Bengaluru.<p>In response, the minister pointed out that the project was a first-of-its-kind endeavour the Urban Development Department (UDD), which is also planning similar townships in other places like Tumakuru, Kalaburagi and so on.</p>.<p>“Of the 900 acres of land belonging to BEML, 600 acres have been allotted for the industries’ department, 300 is for the UDD for the integrated township. This is being developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model where thousands of crores will be spent. We will give stay arrangements too,” said Suresh, who is also the district in-charge minister of Kolar.</p>.<p>Stating that he would visit the township area on Saturday with Roopakala, the minister said the government was keen to develop a model that would fetch revenue while also helping the people.</p>
