Legislators' Committee, BBMP chief to discuss CAG issues

The Legislators Committee on Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat Raj on Wednesday decided to summon the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) commissioner M  Lakshminaraya to discuss the misappropriations noted over the past few reports published by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

These include the misappropriations noted in the construction of footpaths, solid waste management and excess payments to contractors. 

Speaking to Deccan Herald, committee chairman K Gopal Poojary said that the Commissioner had been summoned on September 3 to discuss these issues, and in specific the cases which have been handed over to the Lokayukta for investigation. 

“We want to know the details in these cases, and then we would like to decide on what action to pursue,” he said.
