Man booked for raping minor daughter in Karnataka's Vijayapura

Vijayapura: The Vijayapura police have registered a case against a man under the Pocso Act on charges of sexually assaulting his five-year-old daughter.

The mother of the survivor, who works as a maid, lodged a complaint in women's police station alleging that her husband took both their daughters out at 8 pm on August 30 on the pretext of Ganapati darshan. During which, he sexually assaulted the younger daughter.

Meanwhile, the state commission for protection of child rights has decided to take up a suo motu case. 

"I have issued directions to the personnel of women's police station in Vijayapura to subject the survivor to medical examination and complete all procedures at the earliest. The girl is undergoing treatment at the hospital and is healthy," Shashidhar Kosumbe told reporters.
