Beltangady court executes arrest warrant against RHJV president Thimarody over repeated non-appearance

Mangaluru: Beltangady court on Monday executed an arrest warrant against Rhastriya Hindu Jagaran Vedike President Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi for repeatedly failing to appear before the court in connection with a hate speech case registered against him in Beltangady police station.

Close on the heels of Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi delivering a hate speech at a private programme organised in Indabettu in Beltangady taluk, Beltangady police had registered a case (under section 353 (2) of BNS) based on a complaint filed by Kishore.

Subsequently Beltangady police filed a chargesheet in Beltangady court. When the repeated summons to appear at the court received no response the court executed an arrest warrant against Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi.

Presently Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi has gone into hiding after an order to extern him from the dakshina Kannada district was issued three weeks ago.
