Karnataka Cabinet gives nod for tech park in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: District-in-Charge Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the state cabinet has approved development of technology park at Blueberry Hills in Mangaluru on PPP mode.

“There is demand for investment in the IT sector in Mangaluru. The tech park will be a game changer in the coming days,” he told media persons.

The process for the tech park will be initiated at the earliest.

In fact, Minister for IT--BT Priyank Kharge during his visit to Mangaluru to take part in fifth edition of Mangaluru Technovanza 2025 on September 24 had announced that the Cabinet will approve the proposal at the earliest.

The tech park will come up on 3.285 acres of land in Blueberry Hills in Derebail.

In his X handle, Minister Priyank Kharge said “the Cabinet has decided to develop survey nos 129 and 113 at Blueberry Hills Road, Derebail, Mangaluru Taluk, as a 'commercial office tech park' on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) basis. Spread across 3.28 acres, this Rs 135 crore project will be developed under the PPP model and is expected to create over 11,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Mangaluru cluster alone contributes nearly 5.5% to Karnataka’s GSDP, underlining its importance as an emerging growth hub.

With a strong IT, Fintech and Marinetech presence and growing GCC investments, Mangaluru is fast becoming a destination for technology-driven enterprises. As part of our Local Economic Acceleration Programme (LEAP) to localise and scale Karnataka’s IT ecosystem, the proposed Tech Park, with Grade-A office space, modern infrastructure and plug-and-play facilities is set to transform Mangaluru into the next high-growth corridor,” Kharge's posted.
