<p>Udupi: A 19-year-old youth was arrested for allegedly performing a dangerous wheelie on Rajatadri Road in Manipal on Sunday. </p><p>According to the Manipal police, the accused has been identified as Mohammed Ashiq, a resident of Athradi village.</p><p>A video showing the youth performing wheelie had gone viral on social media platforms on January 4. The video had captured Ashiq riding a two wheeler rashly with a pillion rider, posing a serious threat to public safety.<br>Following which, a team led by Manipal Police Station inspector Devaraj T arrested him. </p>.170 minors caught doing wheelies since 2022 in Bengaluru: Police data.<p>The scooter used in the wheelie too has been seized. A case was registered at Manipal Police Station under Sections 281, 110 of BNS. The arrested was produced before a magistrate who in turn remanded him in judicial custody.</p><p>A case was registered against the arrested at the Manipal police station under Section 279 and 336 of the IPC in 2023.</p><p>Udupi SP Dr Arun K lauded the efforts of the police team.</p>
