Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) officials led by Commissioner Mohammed Nazeer raided business establishments for failing to renew trade licenses, pay property tax and water tax for several years.

Speaking to DH, MCC Commissioner Mohammed Nazeer said that complexes in Attavar and Kodialbail were raided. A few had failed to renew their trade licenses. Some had not paid property and water taxes. One shop was sealed by the officials.

The Commissioner said that notices had been served to the owners to pay pending dues within a week. They were also warned of initiating strict action if they fail to pay dues. The raid by the MCC officials would continue once a week. All business establishments need to review their trade licenses before February 28 for the year 2019-20 by paying the required fee, Nazeer said.
