<p>Mysuru: Minister for Urban Development and Town Planning Byrathi Suresh defended Lokayukta on Friday and said the Lokayukta Police have conducted a fair investigation into the MUDA alternative site allotment case, without any prejudice, and investigated the facts before submitting a report. </p><p>He visited Chamundeshwari temple atop Chamundi hill and Srikanteshwara temple in Nanjangud in Mysuru district on Friday. </p><p>Speaking to media persons in Mysuru, he said, "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has never made any mistake and he was never involved in any irregularity. People of the state know the truth now. I had told this and had invited opposition leaders to make a vow (Aane) at Chamundi hill in this regard. But they didn't come. BJP leaders lied and conducted the Mysuru-Mangaluru Yatra. CM's wife Parvathamma (B M Parvathy) had lost land and she has got the compensation during the regime of the then Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai-led BJP government. That's it," he said. </p>.Don't want BJP to remain in power personally, would be good if Nitin Gadkari becomes PM: Santosh Lad.<p>When asked about the alleged MUDA scam, he said, "There is no question of sparing anyone in the case of alternative site allotment by MUDA on a 50:50 basis. We will initiate action after the investigation is completed by the P N Desai commission. Highest number of sites are given on a 50:50 basis to compensate for land acquired during the BJP regime."</p><p>About the allegation that he took away some MUDA files, he said, "MUDA files are not Murmura to carry them away with me. Which report says that the files are missing? Is it that easy to take files? How can they say so authentically that I took 141 sites? Who gave that number? So maybe those who have made the allegation might have taken the files away too."</p><p><strong>'Devaraja market will be rebuilt'</strong> </p><p>"We will demolish Devaraja market and Lansdowne buildings and build new ones shortly within stipulated time. We already have Rs 100 crore for the same. The vendors in the market will not be evicted. They will be given shops on priority," the minister said. </p>
