Bengaluru: BJP State Vice-President Murugesh R Nirani on Friday asserted that there was no need to associate BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B L Santhosh with all the wrong happenings in the state unit.
.
Speaking to reporters, Nirani conceded that he would be wrong if he tried to wish away things that were happening in the party. “Having said this, holding him (Santhosh) responsible for internal bickering will be completely wrong,” he added.

“Issues between Gali Janaradhan Reddy and B Sriramulu or any other leader or group making accusations against the BJP state president can not be linked to him (Santhosh). He has come from RSS and he will not indulge in anti-party activities,” Nirani said.
.Vijayendra says developments within Karnataka BJP hurt him and party workers.
He further emphasised that the BJP high command was strong enough to sort out differences that have cropped up within the party in the last couple of months.

“I hope that within 8 or 10 days, these issues will be sorted out. As we speak, there are reports that Sriramulu has been asked to go to Delhi and the same way BJP state president is already there (Delhi). So, I hope issues will be sorted out sooner than we all are expecting,” the former minister said.
.
On Bijapur City legislator Basanagouda Patil Yatnal demanding the party to hold elections to pick party’s state unit chief, Nirani said that all MLAs irrespective of their experience aspire to be party state president or chief minister.
.
“After coming to politics, every one aspires to occupy one of these posts. There is nothing wrong in demanding elections. But, unfortunately, matters of this nature can not be decided at the state-level. If at all it has to happen, the party high command will have to take a call,” he said.
.
On continuation of Vijyendra’s term, Nirani said that the party by-laws were very clear in this regard and there were ample examples of party handing fresh term to incumbent president. There are equal number chances that the party high command might replace incumbent president with a new face in the event of former remaining not active.
.
“Ultimately whatever decision party high command takes, all must adhere to,” he said.
.
When asked about whether rebels should be expelled from the party, Nirani, despite being a bitter critic of Yatnal, asserted that he was not in favour of expelling anyone from the party, including Yatnal and former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi.
.
“If we are building a party, then we need all and everyone to work together for the party. We can not forget 2008 and 2018 Assembly results. Despite BJP fighting these Assembly elections as a single unit, we have failed to cross the magic number of 113 seats. Our tally stood at 110 and 104. So, I am not in favour of expulsion of anyone from the party,” he said.
