Operation to capture tiger intensifed in Kodagu

The forest department officials intensified the operation to capture the tiger, which has claimed three lives in the last 16 days, on Tuesday.

More than 150 personnel of the department took part in the operation. The animal had attacked two persons on Monday. The condition of Kencha (50), who suffered injuries in the tiger attack, worsened on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, residnets of Srimangala and neighbouring villages staged a series of protests, urging the department to capture the tiger. The protesters demanded that the villagers should be allowed to shoot the tiger.
