A chartered flight headed for Goa with the chief of Russian Railways and his delegation on board, landed in Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Saturday morning due to bad weather in Goa.

A source from the airport said, “We received information that Bombardier 5000 (GL5T) aircraft, which was flying to Goa, was diverted to KIA as the weather conditions in Goa were not suitable for the aircraft to land. At 9 am, the aircraft landed in KIA and departed at 11.02 am after refuelling.” The flight was checked before it was given approval for take-off.

“Chief of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov and his delegation were on their way to attend the BRICS summit which is being held in Goa. We cannot reveal the details on how many people were there in the aircraft due to security reasons,” added the source.
