Planter blocks stream, diverts water to his estate

Around 15 families in Kopatti village, under Kundacheri Gram Panchayat jurisdiction, are facing acute shortage of water as a coffee planter has blocked the flow of a stream and has diverted the water to his plantation.

The coffee planter has illegally built a wall (mud) to block the natural flow of water and has supplied the water through sprinklers to his coffee plantation.

Based on a complaint, Kundacheri Gram Panchayat development officer visited the spot and conducted an inspection. She has promised to take appropriate action against the offenders, including planter.
