K S Shivaramu, president of Karnataka Backward Classes Awareness Committee, on Thursday accused MP Pratap Simha and BJP of misusing postal department officials for election campaign.

Shivaramu alleged that Pratap Simha is misusing the service of postman to send booklets of his achievements to the households.

"He (Simha) has printed 50,000 booklets and sending them through postman and this is violation of model code of conduct which is in place from March 10," said Shivaramu.

Shivaramu also accused Mysuru Division Postal Superintendent Prakash.

"The SP has issued a circular to the post offices asking the postman to distribute booklets to every house coming under respective jurisdiction," he alleged.

Shivaramu urged Election commission to initiate action against the MP and also demanded suspension of the Post Superintendent.
