Rains damage 8 houses in Kushalnagar

The rains had brought a sigh of relief to people, who were struggling to beat the heat. However, at the same time, it also brought tears in many families as several houses were damanged.

Roads, trees and electricity lines were also damaged due to heavy rains and lightning. Many electric poles and trees fell at several places due to the wind near Koodige Road.

A total of eight houses were damaged at Gummanakolli alone. Houses of Savithramma, Ramakrishna, Somaiah, Leelaravi, Manjularaj, Shanthamma, Leelavathi and others were damaged here.

Meanwhile, the huts of more than 50 families were destroyed at Nagamma Manti near Gummanakolli. Gram Panchayat former Members M S Shivananda, D K Chaluvaraj and BJP hobli Secretary C M Ganiprasad urged MLA M P Appachu Ranjan to sanction compensation to families immediately. Village Accountant Kalappa visited the village to assess the loss.
