Rains lash Mysuru, Ballari

Some parts of state received rainfall on Sunday evening.

Harapanahalli and the surrounding regions in Ballari district received heavy rainfall, accompanied with lightning and thundershowers.

It rained for a few minutes at Baagali, Chikkahalli and Eradettu villages in the taluk. The sky remained overcast the entire day. The showers have brought the much-required respite from the scorching heat in the region. Heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning lashed parts of Mysuru city on Sunday evening. The downpour continued for about half-an-hour.

Hampapura in H D Kote taluk and Saragur taluk received heavy rainfall on Saturday night, bringing cheer among the members of the farming community. The Forest Department personnel heaved a sigh of relief as heavy rains in the forest area will prevent possible forest fire.
