Ready to be Karnataka BJP chief if party wants, says Kumar Bangarappa

Kumar Bangarappa further mentioned that there are allegations that the party's State Unit President BY Vijayendra is not responsive to other leaders.

Soraba: Former minister Kumar Bangarappa on Monday said that the issue of farmers' land being registered under the Waqf Board in the state, along with the request to change the Karnataka BJP unit president, has been brought to the attention of central leaders.

"If the senior leaders wish to offer the position of state unit president, I am ready to accept," he said while speaking at a meeting of leaders held at the BJP office.

He further mentioned that there are allegations that the party's State Unit President BY Vijayendra is not responsive to other leaders, adding that he has also experienced this and that many leaders are dissatisfied with his performance.

"I am committed to the decision that central leaders will make within the party framework," he said.

"In my three decades of political life, I have worked for the welfare of farmers and the common people, and people have blessed me as a strong leader of the backward community. If given the responsibility of the party president's position to represent the backward classes, I will manage it effectively," he stated.
