<p>Bengaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for seven districts, forecasting extremely heavy rainfall on Wednesday. </p>.<p>The districts are Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Kodagu. </p>.<p>The situation is expected to improve on Thursday for Dakshina Kannada, Hassan and Kodagu, but they will still be placed on orange alert (heavy rainfall). </p>.Rains batter coastal districts of Karnataka; traffic disrupted on waterlogged highways.<p>An orange alert will be in place for Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Davangere and Mysuru on Wednesday. </p>.<p class="bodytext">For Thursday, the districts on orange alert will also include Belagavi, Dharwad and Haveri. </p>.<p class="bodytext">A yellow alert (heavy rainfall) will be in force for Bengaluru Urban and Rural, Tumakuru, Ramanagar, Kolar, Chitradurga, Chikkaballapur, Koppal and Bagalkot on Wednesday. </p>.<p class="bodytext">For Thursday, the districts on yellow alert will include Bidar, Gadag, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Chikkaballapur and Kolar. </p>.<p class="bodytext">According to the IMD, maximum temperature is expected to fall by 2-3°C across Karnataka over the next five days. </p>.<p class="bodytext">A thunderstorm with lightning will likely occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka until May 26, the IMD said. </p>
