Bengaluru: BJP state president B Y Vijayendra on Sunday sought to know if Bijapur city legislator Basanagouda Patil Yatnal was waiting for an auspicious moment to release documents/video clips against him.
.
“I earnestly appeal to him to release whatever document or video clip he has against me without wasting his precious time. I am ready to face it,” he told reporters after a breakfast meeting with his supporters here.
.
Yatnal had earlier said that he would release incriminating documents and video clips to prove Vijayendra’s close relationship with Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.
.
Vijayendra said he and his father (Yediyurappa) had been facing charges of adjustment politics with Congress leaders for long and that he wanted the charges to be cleared once for all.
.Supporters of Yediyurappa seek immediate expulsion of Yatnal.
“If Yatnal has any document or a clip to prove his allegation, he should go ahead and release it,” he dared.
.
“His actions must be in line with that of the party. But but for long, he has been making statements against us. I can only appeal to him not to violate the party’s discipline and insult BJP workers who have toiled to build the party from scratch. No member of the party, including myself, will be allowed to behave in a manner that will bring disrepute to the party and hinder its growth,” Vijayendra said.
.
Meanwhile, speaking at a public meet against “land grabbing by Waqf Board,” in Belagavi, former minister Aravind Limbavali said that Vijayendra has not been made the state BJP president to do “adjustment politics” with chief minister and deputy chief minister.
.
“The fight against Waqf Board is a pro-people struggle. But, you want to expel Yatnal who is leading this fight. If you don’t want to join us, you launch a separate struggle,” Limbavali told Vijayendra.
.
Former MP Prathap Simha, interacting with journalists in Belagavi, said that their fight is not against any individual, but the Waqf Board’s attempts to illegally acquire land.
.
“All the struggle is done by BJP only. The common objective is to check land grabbing by Waqf. There is no room for any difference of opinion amongst us,” he said.
