It was after one year of the collapse of the ceiling that Government handed over the repair works to a private company from Bangalore.

Though the experts from the company came to the cave and started the works, they had to stop it half way due to unfavourable weather.

On September 8, Minister K S Eshwarappa, MP D V Sadananda Gowda, MLA C T Ravi and others offered prayers at the peeta to start the repair works. The stagnant water and mud was cleared from the cave following the puja.

Meanwhile, JD(S) Members Chandrappa and Muktiar Ahmed filed a Public Interest Litigation saying that the cave is being spoilt in the name of repair, further violating the Supreme Court order. On the basis of the PIL, Divisional Bench of Justice Mohan Shanthanagowda and P F Dinakaran passed an interim stay order on the repair works and also issued notice against Minister K S Eshwarappa, D V Sadananda Gowda, C T Ravi, Department of Endowment and others in this regard.

The works have been stopped on the order of the court stating that the original look of the cave should not be tampered.  A security guard has been deputed at the peeta.
