<p>For the first time in the recent past, Child Welfare Committee (CWC) on Tuesday awarded punishment to a man who had physically abused a nine-year-old boy, to render service for two days at Juvenile Boys Home at J P Nagar in the city.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Yogesh the lorry driver had been in relationship with Razia alias Rajeshwari.<br /> <br />The woman who was already married has a nine-year-old son. The woman had forced her son out of the house, while Yogesh beat him black and blue, before the boy was rescued by CWC and Nazarbad police. <br /><br />When counselled, the boy refused to join his mother, while the latter had expressed her wish to take back her son, as a reconciliation. <br /><br />Yogesh who had been arrested by the police then, was summoned for counselling on Tuesday.<br /><br />Though Yogesh explained the turn of events that led to the incident, the committee also instructed him to pay medical expenses of Rs 8,000 to the boy. <br /><br />CWC chairman N T Venkatesh confirmed to this newspaper that it’s for the first time in the recent past a guilty has been asked to render service at boys’ home. <br /><br />Accordingly, he has to perform duties assigned at the home.<br /></p>
