<p>Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, Manjunath Datta, an activist said although they are opposed to certain thinkings of Ramdev but still they support his agitation demanding bringing back money stashed in foreign banks. It was unbecoming on the part of the Centre to use the police force to evict peaceful protest staged by Baba and his followers. <br /><br />Datta said agitation was the most powerful weapon in democracy but the union government tried to check it. It was not auger well for anybody to swoop on peaceful protest during midnight. <br /><br />Some union ministers were trying to mislead the agitation by creating a rift between Ramdev and Anna Hazare. Some persons were creating confusion among people on both the agitations. <br /><br />The government was trying to stamp out the stir as they feel threatened to it. That should not be allowed at any cost, he added.<br /><br />He said it was unfortunate that the prime ministers and other union ministers have defended the police action despite criticism from various quarters. They have issued childish statement that Ramdev had failed to obtain permission from the cops. <br /><br />The PM was unfit for that post and it was better to dismiss the government. If the government says that Ramdev’s agitation did not have people’s support it was better to seek a mandate from the citizens, he added.<br /><br />He said they would hold a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office and they would not take permission from anybody.
