<p>Dharwad: Reacting to the ‘Janivara’ row escalating in all parts of the state, Deputy Leader of Opposition in Assembly Arvind Bellad has demanded suspension of the officer who made the student remove ‘Janivara’ at the CET centre. </p><p>“The chief minister should also issue an apology regarding the incident,” he demanded.</p><p>Speaking to media persons in Dharwad, he said, “Incidents of students being made to remove their ‘Janivara’ have occurred in Shivamogga, Bidar, and Sagar as well. People from various communities wear the sacred thread. Forcing its removal before allowing students to take the exam is condemnable. The Congress government in the state is trying to appease Muslims,” he alleged.</p><p>“We are protesting the failures of the state government and rising prices through the Janakrosha Yatra. During this campaign, we will also raise our voice against the Janivara issue,” he said.</p><p>On Jayamrutyunjaya Swamiji, Bellad said, “Basava Jayamruthyunjaya Swamiji has worked to unite society. He has launched a movement for 2A reservation for the Panchamasali community. It is not right for some people to make statements against the Swamiji.”</p><p>“He himself is a great force. He does not need a mutt for his existence. Those who made statements against the Swamiji did so in a recent meeting where BJP leaders were not present,” he clarified.</p><p><strong>Support for E-RT</strong></p><p>“I welcome the district in-charge minister’s initiative to implement an Electric Rapid Transit (E-RT) system to improve connectivity in twin cities. There is a need to redesign the current BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System) corridor for better efficiency. A complete redesign of the corridor could resolve the issues faced by the BRTS,” he added.</p>
