Swine flu is manageable: Udupi DC

The illness is manageable and door to door awareness programme has been taken up at Gram Panchayath level, she said.

Speaking to the media after the KDB review meet here on Friday, she informed that about seven positive cases and three suspected cases has been reported in the district. Public and private hospitals have been issued orders to take up precautionary measures. Isolation wards will be arranged in public and private hospitals. Quarantining the people in contact with the infected person is necessary. Surveillance on the new entrants is also required, she said.

Appealing people not to get panicked, Hemalatha said that one should be careful at the same time. The virus spreads through contacts and one should avoid contact with the infected person, she added.
