A delegation of members of The Advocates' Association, Bengaluru, Karnataka State Bar Council and other senior advocates, led by senior counsel B V Acharya, will meet all constitutional functionaries responsible for the appointment of judges in the coming week and press for the appointment of two judges recommended by the bar.
The delegation will meet the Attorney General of India, Union Law Minister, Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of India and press for the appointment of P M Nawaz and Narendra Prasad, recommended by the collegium. The names are yet to be approved by the central government.
"After two weeks, if no action is taken, we will meet the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court and press for filling the remaining vacancies in the High Court," said A P Ranganatha, president of AAB.
