<p>The carcass of a tiger was found in the waters of a tank of Kamurihalli, near Adagur in Belur taluk under Niralla Forest limits of Hassan district on Monday. </p><p>As the tiger had a radio collar on its neck, officials are presuming that the big cat would have come from the Bhadra forest area of Chikkamagaluru district.</p><p>Officials said that there are no tigers in the forests of Hassan district but several people had reported sighting of a tiger in the Niralla forests.</p>.Madhya Pradesh dam project will submerge critical tiger corridor: NTCA.<p>Locals and forest department staff had however dismissed it as rumours.</p><p>The incident has however, created anxiety among the people of the villages around Adagur and in some parts of Hassan taluk, officials said. </p><p>As the carcass was in a highly-decomposed state, officials suspect that it might have died a few days ago. Veterinarians of the Animal Husbandry University in Hassan conducted the post-mortem.</p><p>The cause of the death is yet to be ascertained.</p><p>DFO Sourav Kumar and his team visited the spot. After a spot inspection and post-mortem, the carcass was cremated as per protocol.</p>
